Well, I spoke a little TOO soon! :)

I stayed home from school today (yes, the teacher played hooky), but I just needed the rest. I, of course, spiked a migraine (because that happens 100% of the time when I grade too much in a short period of time), and I just wasn’t up to work. Shockingly, I have a lot of sick time accumulated, and I have learned though this whole experience to be good to myself when I need to be.

My school is certainly not passing out awards for steadfast commitment for 31 years. If anything, a lot of administrators these days would like to get rid of veteran educators because we cost too much (HA! That’s a funny one), and we aren’t as easily manipulated as the younger ones can sometimes be.

I am in at 7 and out at 4-5 with two 45-minute commutes, and I often have evening work to do. I certainly have work to do every single weekend.

I put the day to good use, though. I copied all sorts of recipes from the forum onto index cards...the ones I know I am capable of making since I am so bad at cooking...and it gave me a sense of accomplishment. I’ve already made a few of the recipes, and everything has been quite yummy so far.

I also did my Bible study homework so that I will be free for conference calls this weekend.

Thanks for all the supportive comments!

I love you all!
Jamie
