Aunt Laura our second angel
Hey, Laura!

I’ve definitely changed my diet in a HUGE way. It just wasn’t enough to combat the exhaustion from grading, unfortunately. That is the dilemma for teachers. At times, the job doesn’t allow us to rest as much as we need. My husband and I are starting to investigate the impact of my potential retirement. The original plan was for me to retire in four years (after year #35)...that seems like an eternity right now, even though it really isn’t. I started young (age 22) and have been at the same school the entire time.

When I got home from school today (Friday), I took a good long nap, and it felt SO good. I usually sleep in on Saturday mornings, too, and I certainly will tomorrow.

Thanks for your encouragement. Some day, I would like to know exactly why so many teachers and nurses come down with this illness. The answer may be as simple as this: we spend our lives taking care of other people and often neglect ourselves in the process.
