Hello, everyone.

I have posted about either of the “Nicholes” in my life because until this week, I honestly didn’t have an update. Now I do.

Thank you so much for asking about them, Cheryl!
Cheryl, you are a marvel to me. You always find a way to make others feel so loved. I really value our new friendship. I’ve become closer to you, Donna, Karen, Maria, Laura...the list goes on and on.

I really take this forum seriously. I will be a “lifer,” even when I get well. Hear that, folks: WHEN I get well!!! :)

My “adopted” daughter Nichole...the former student that I fostered for a year...had two back-to-back strokes while she was on vacation in Florida with her daughter. Many of you already know about this from a previous conference call. She is only 38 years old. The good news: she was misdiagnosed with a brain tumor in Florida. A neurosurgeon in Connecticut could see no mass. I was so relieved to hear that. I think that takes cancer out of the picture. The bad news: they still don’t know what caused the strokes. They have narrowed the issue to either neurological or cardiac in nature.

I saw her the other day, and she is definitely not recovered from the strokes—she will need ongoing therapy. She has difficulty answering certain types of questions, and she appears like she is “in a fog” of sorts. She has a ton of doctors’ appointments coming up from now through June. Apparently, there is a condition that some younger women get that causes migraines, strokes, miscarriages (she has had quite a few), and high blood pressure, among other symptoms. She has all of those right now. As I get additional news, I will post it.

As far as the other Nichole is concerned (the student currently at my school that I taught last year and whose mother died after a four-year bout with cancer this past July), she saw a GI specialist this week. FINALLY someone did something for the poor girl. On Wednesday, she had both an endoscopy and a colonoscopy (what a misery fest that day must have been). Alarmingly, they found polyps, all sorts of lesions, scarring...and she’s only 18 years old, which is tremendously unusual. I told her that it was appalling that two separate hospitals and so many doctors/nurses told her that “nothing was wrong” and that she must be imagining her abdominal pain, even though when they pushed on her stomach, she was clearly in agony. She gets more specific results this upcoming week. I will keep everyone posted once I know a little more on that front, too.

On the Jamie front, I have been feeling so hopeful lately. My skin symptoms have gone almost completely silent. I feel better than I have in SO long. I had already worked myself up to 7/7 with the WPS but had to start all over: am now up to 6/6. I think I’ve been on the protocol 7-8 months (?) ... Mel would probably know ... after 7 months of antibiotics.

Since I radically changed my diet, I feel like a million bucks compared to before.

My hair has suddenly decided to improve noticeably, too. It’s definitely not out of the woods, but it suddenly isn’t causing me as much grief, and it looks and feels healthier.

I have literally been freezing my head every single morning in the shower.

I am using a lot of Kleen Green and clove on my hair at night: not every night but regularly. I have been using silver in my eyes, too, and they seem a tad better in less than a month of doing that treatment.

I kind of feel like I am now “reversing backward” in stages, meaning that I am heading backward to positive aspects of the “old Jamie”—but without old Jamie’s unhealthy habits. For some of you who have recovered, you might understand what I mean by that. I do this quirky thing now where I tell the microbes that they are on their way out.

(Many years ago, I met a woman in remission after a battle with cancer. She told me that every single day of her treatment, she imagined that she had a little guy with a chisel inside her body, and she would tell him to chisel away at the cancer cells.

Maybe the mind has the capacity to heal in ways we can’t possibly fathom.)

I’ve started taking WPS baths, too, and I am actually happy when the bathtub fills up with what I fondly call my “white flakes.” Better out than in.

For everyone who is new, please do not give up hope! I was seriously where you were just a few years back. I’m telling you, and I believe this with every fiber of my being, that the protocol works.

I’m also a HUGE advocate of the forum, both the Saturday conference calls (that are always amazingly informative) and the Sunday devotionals.
Oh, my goodness, the Sunday calls are something else. I wish EVERYONE would attend at least one call to see how special the Sunday community is, how supportive and helpful everyone is.

I can honestly say that I thank God that he has given me Morgellons & Lyme. I know that sounds like the craziest thing in the world to say, but I honestly mean it. It has completely transformed me as a human being.

I am a better version of the following “Jamies”:

* I am a better Christian.
* I am a better teacher.
* I am a better daughter.
* I am a better sister.
* I am a better friend.
* I am a better listener.
* I have a healthier diet.
* I take better care of myself in general.
* I am more compassionate toward others.
* I am far less judgmental.

Am I perfect? Absolutely NOT! However, this disease—miserable beyond belief at times—has this miraculous way of transforming people. It makes most people hit their “rock bottom.” When that happens, there is nowhere to go but “up.”

I hope to be at both conference calls this weekend. I’ll definitely be there Sunday—may be a little late on Saturday.

Take good care of yourselves. On a daily basis, I say prayers for this community and all those who are part of it. God answers prayers. He may not answer prayers exactly when we want Him to, but I honestly believe that He does.

With much love,

Jamie
