Over the past three years, I can count on one hand the number of times I have jumped up and down with excitement, and tonight was one of them! After I posted a response to Laura, I checked some recent blood work I had. When I stopped taking antibiotics after 7 months (pre-Mel, pre-protocol, obviously), my TSH was 15!!!!!!!! I had been struggling with my thyroid level for years, and that was the test that convinced me that antibiotics were darn evil. In only 7 months, the protocol has driven my TSH down to 4.77, just shy of “normal” range. My ultimate goal is to drive my TSH down as close to “1” as I can, but this recent test result is sincere progress! My husband was shocked when I started jumping around the kitchen and woo-hooing!!! In addition, John B. and I recently tweaked my vitamin D (I was starting to reach the high end of normal), and my vitamin D level dropped from the 90s to the 70s, which is much more comfortable, so the tweaking worked! That resulted in another round of jumping and woo-hooing! It’s funny how things like that literally bring joy to my heart! It serves as additional confirmation that I am on the right track. I think my PCP was rather stunned, too. She has been great about ordering certain blood work, and she has been watching my thyroid levels rather closely. I have staunchly refused thyroid medication after a trial run with it about two years ago. I am convinced that when I get better, so will my thyroid. Another good thing about my PCP is that she has quit trying to convince me that “I am not as sick as I think I am.” Not that I am on death’s doorstep by any means, but I’m sure some (or all!) of you have had doctors make similar, ignorant comments. I have out-argued her so many times, that she has finally had to admit that I have something she cannot explain. Anyway, I just thought I’d share, especially for the newbies who might be looking for as much confirmation as they can get that the protocol really works...IT IS THE ANSWER! Jamie S. | ||||||
