Thank you for your very sweet posts! Cheryl and I talk rather frequently, and she is also so kind to ask about my Nicholes. I know that God is aware of their situations and has them in His loving hands. I told someone the other day about you, that I had recently met a truly lovely woman who literally radiates kindness with her soft presence and generous heart. Laura, you made me cry a little...in a good way. I don’t necessarily view myself as an “inspiration” to anyone. I see myself as only one of many individuals who participate in the forum by telling their honest stories and by supporting others. Laura, some day I definitely want to meet you...when I see that you have posted back to me, I always get excited because you always seem to know just what to say to me. I will never forget, until the end of my days on this earth, where I was in the beginning of the process. I could barely get out of bed. I cried daily, what felt like constantly. I shut out so many people. I felt hopeless, like I would spend the rest of my days suffering beyond comprehension. And then there was God. And then there was the forum and all the beautiful people I have met here. Like Mel has said numerous times, He told God that if he recovered, he would devote his life to helping others. I admire that type of devotion and commitment because it is rare in this world of ours. In recent months, I have decided that no microbes will take anything else away from me. No microbes will steal my happiness like they did for several years. No microbe is stronger than I am if I throw my whole heart and soul into overcoming it. No microbe will ever again plunge my health into the state that it was for so long. No microbe will steal my heart or soul. No microbe stands a prayer against God or against communities, like this one, which foster unwavering strength and hope. May God shower each and everyone of you with his blessings and love.
