Before Mel gets out his hockey stick, I had best post something about my progress. It has been a wee bit of time since I posted. I just called Logos, and lovely Jill confirmed that July 13th is my first year anniversary of being on the protocol, so I am between months 11 and 12. I had a bit of a set back. This past Sunday night, my husband took me to the emergency room after a lot of people (Mel, Cheryl, Donna, Karen) suggested that I might consider going there because I was having so much abdominal pain. I thought I might be having issues with a previous abdominal hernia surgery because I could feel something that felt like a staple close to the surface of my tummy. I was also concerned about the possibility of an obstruction of some sort. Well, sure enough, I have an obstruction. It’s not a super serious one, or they would not have sent me home that night or would have done something to treat me on the spot. I am in the process of trying to get an expedited appointment with a GI specialist. In the meantime, I have to take a lot of Miralax. At least I know why I have been so miserable lately. I’ve had to up my intake of water even more, and I have to somehow find ways to increase my fiber, which is challenging on the Morgellons/Lyme diet. I haven’t had much of an appetite for a while because of my stomach hurting so badly. Fortunately, I haven’t lost too much weight because I am already way too skinny. I owe special thanks to the individuals I mentioned earlier in this post. They really helped me to figure out what was going on. Mel was actually the one who figured out what might be wrong. Summer vacation is in full swing. It’s nice to get more sleep and not have to grade papers or do lesson plans. I can’t wait until I never have to concern myself with grading and planning ever again! I continue to keep everyone in my prayers, and I just keep plugging along, having faith that God has this. Jamie To close my post, this quote stroke me today as I was reading the book “Edgar Cayce, The Sleeping Prophet” by Jess Stearn, published in 1967: “Keep the mental in the attitude of constructive forces. See in every individual that which is hopeful, helpful. Do not look for others’ faults, but rather for their virtues, and the virtues in self will become magnified. For what we think upon, that we become.” - Edgar Cayce | ||||||
