Hello, everyone.
I think it is important to relay some information that made national news the other day.
There is currently active legislation in the House of Representatives (HR220) sponsored by New Jersey Representative Chris Smith (Republican). Please read the link if you are interested. He is asking for an investigation into the possibility that Lyme disease did not evolve in nature but was man-made instead.
One of the many incredible positives of this legislation is that Smith is asking for 180 million dollars to be allotted for Lyme disease research, as opposed to the 11 million that the CDC currently allots. He is also asking for a national plan (other countries, such as France, already have such plans) to combat Lyme disease, which is certainly long overdue in the United States where Lyme disease originated—and likely Morgellons, too.
Inspired by this new attention to the issue, I contacted my local New England representative. I was readily given the email of his scheduling coordinator and am waiting back to hear when I might be able to see him briefly at his home office the next time that the House is not in session. I would like to do what I can on a local or national level to ensure that this legislation is passed or to ensure that attention continues to be paid to the countless people suffering from Lyme disease...and, of course, Morgellons. Although Morgellons is not mentioned in the article, I believe it is only a matter of time before it is acknowledged.
I will certainly say many prayers that HR220 doesn’t disappear and continues to work its way through the House of Representatives and beyond.
