Thank you for all of your kind and encouraging words! And so kind of you to dedicate Emily Dickinson's poem to me because you remembered that I liked it a lot. When you read Emily Dickinson's poem on that Sunday's call, I remember thinking, what a lovely thing to picture hope as being a tangible thing with feathers, perching in the soul. Then, to think of it singing a never ending tune without words is lovely as well. That makes me think of that old saying, "Keep a song in your heart." I guess we could say, keep hope singing in your soul :-) Thank you for posting the beautiful poem by William Wordsworth as well. It contains some beautiful word pictures. I hope you have had a chance to begin listening to the book of Acts. I'm glad that listening to the Bible is comforting to you. It is to me as well. It's great that you and your husband had such a nice vacation. I'm glad ya'll were able to experience some gentle Southern hospitality :-) I loved the movie, The Patriot. It was a great movie. Yes, he went on through a lot of tragedy and sadness, and finally ended up in a place of hope and new beginnings. It is awful that the school did such a depressing presentation. Heartbreaking really. It is terribly sad to see how much the school system has degraded over the years. It is wonderful teachers such as yourself, bring light and love into kid's lives, which helps to combat that darkness. Maybe in heaven you will be able to see what an impact you have made, and all of the lives you have touched. Good for you for refusing to stay and listen to all of that depressing stuff. You stood up for yourself, and in a way you stood up for everyone who might have wanted to leave, but were not able to for whatever reason. Maybe some saw you leave, and will be brave enough to do so themselves next year. My heart truly does go out to you and all of the good, caring teachers out there. I think it is FANTASTIC that you went home and took a nap after such a day. It makes me smile to see your determination that you are not going to let outside circumstances dictate your emotions. Karen, You made such a heart-felt post about so many things. It really touched my heart. Thank you. I was saying amen just as Jamie did in her post to you. Linda, Thank you so much for the kind words and lovely posts. I'm glad that you liked the poem as well. You will have to post the names of some of the devotional books that have been encouraging and helpful to you. Finally Jamie, Thank you for being willing to share so much of your journey with this disease, and your journey in life, with those of us on the forum. I appreciate all of your great, sincere posts. I know they encourage and inspire many people in this community. God bless, Cheryl | |||
