Hello, everyone!

I am writing this post from Savannah, GA, where I am on vacation with my husband. We were near Hilton Head, SC, from Sunday to Thursday, and we are here until Sunday when we fly back home to MA.

My, oh my, I now know for sure that I just cannot live in New England forever! Southern hospitality is NO myth! When we arrived at this hotel, we were greeted with doors being opened for us and an offer of complimentary champagne, which I (of course!) declined! For all of you Southerners on the forum, I will definitely be spending my retirement years in NC or SC.

I am not out of the woods yet (Mel recently claimed on a call that I am about 85% (and he is probably right on my good days), and this vacation has confirmed a few things about Jamie that were critical to realize:

#1: When I get out of my head, I feel 1000 times better!
#2: I have made progress in a year. I doubt I could have done this vacation before the protocol.
#3: I just need to stay the course. In the movie “The Patriot,” Mel Gibon’s character has a son who tells him to stay the course, even when the odds are stacked against him. Because he ultimately refuses to give in, he prevails in the end. I can be my own worst enemy at times because I genuinely struggle with fear and anxiety, but I am working very hard to change that...because it is the #1 obstacle in my way from the finish line. Staying the course means trusting Mel and doing what I need to do. I haven’t missed a supplement dose on vacation (including the silver and WPS), and I have done very well sticking to my diet...to the point that my husband has been impressed with the multitude of incredible food, desserts, and alcoholic drinks I have passed up.

I know that God has been with me on this vacation, but more importantly, he has been with me every step of this crazy journey. In the end, I will be a far better human being...and a far healthier one.

I called Mel this morning to let him know that I am ok, and he asked me to write a post, so please don’t think I am gloating about being on vacation...I am truly not. I just want people to know that it is possible to get their lives back, one slow step at a time, and that this just might be a small victory along my journey.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I can’t make the full calls this weekend, but I may just poke my head in and say hello!

With much love,

Jamie
