Well, for the first time ever, I think, Mel moved my thread to the second page of the forum. I guess that was his subtle hint that I had best make a post in my own thread! LOL! I have seven weeks of online teaching to go until retirement. They will, indeed, be a lengthy seven weeks. All of this online time probably isn’t helping my migraine situation, but at least I won’t have to spend nearly this much time after I retire. I think I have a little less than 40 school days to go. Woo hoo! I have been taking some supplements for my stomach (one is to address my lack of a gall bladder, the other two are healing agents, including colostrum—at least that is my understanding). Although I’m smart enough to know that it will take time to undo decades worth of damage, I have noticed some improvements. My reflux isn’t cured, but it isn’t nearly as bad as it was. I no longer have stomach cramps or discomfort when I eat. I’m able to eat some higher-fat foods (like avocados) that I wasn’t able to eat for a while. And then there is the SCALE. Some of you know how utterly frustrated I have been by the significant weight loss I have experienced. I went from being about 125 pounds to 104 pounds at my lowest. Suddenly, this past month, my weight has shot up to 111! Mel thinks that is a positive sign. I’m trying not to get too excited. I had a bad couple of months with lesions, along with a lengthy “stinging cycle,” but that seems to be behind me now as well. My upper back/shoulders is clear right now. I have two small lesions on the back of my neck. My right arm is clear. My chest and stomach are clear. My legs are clear. My left arm, which I have struggled with lately, is almost clear. Today I used a new brand of sulfur soap that I found, and my skin reacted to it a little bit with some light stinging. I have to ask Mel about that. Today was actually warm in New England, so I took a 4-mile walk. I was a tad bit tired when I returned but nothing significant. My hair seems a little bit better...just a tad...although I am NOT going to get myself excited about that yet, either. My hair texture changes daily in all sorts of subtle ways. I have been mixing a little bit of diamataceous earth into my shampoo several times a week, and one morning I used my husband’s coffee grounds and did a scalp treatment. I mixed a small amount of the coffee grounds with conditioner and let it sit on my head for 15 minutes. It was pretty invigorating, and my hair texture was better after that treatment. I just keep trying things. I still do Mel’s cold water treatment, but I swear whatever is in my hair really likes being there. It has from the very beginning. I REALLY need a haircut. I purposely cut my hair short—a pixi—and the women on the forum undoubtedly know that a short haircut needs monthly maintenance. My hairdresser is in Connecticut, and that state isn’t even thinking of reopening salons until the end of May at the very earliest. I haven’t had a haircut in five weeks now. SIGH. My husband also has MD and Lyme; he tested positive through my Lyme doctor for Lyme disease. He has MD symptoms, including occasional black specks in the bed, which I never had. He has the crawling sensations. He has some weird rashes on his face, neck, chest. He has severe insomnia. We don’t sleep in the same bed now. We have had to make some other changes, too. He sees my Lyme doctor on Monday and then needs to decide what he is going to do. I have told him what I think. He has to make his own decision; I can’t force him to do anything he doesn’t want to do. We bought a house in Fuquay-Varina, NC, and we move there no later than the end of August. It’s new construction, and it’s in a very nice area. I’m excited about the move. Neither of us have family in New England, although Alan’s two boys will remain here with their biological mother. My husband is originally from North Carolina, and he has wanted to return for years. It makes sense for us to go now because it was always our retirement plan anyway. We want to sell the house NOW before the economy gets worse, which it undoubtedly will. We live in a nice neighborhood with a lot of kids, so our house should easily sell within a month or two. I am thrilled that North Carolina is warmer than New England because it will allow me to exercise outdoors on a daily basis, something I can’t always do here. I’ll get more natural vitamin D as a result! Once I am down there, I will look for a stress-free job that will make me happy. I definitely will never again teach full-time again, not even part-time. I will consider subbing and tutoring but nothing more than that. I actually hope I find a job that has nothing to do with teaching, something that is just plain enjoyable. For the first time in my overly responsible life, I know that the right position will come along, and I will just let God take care of that one. Well, I think that about covers everything. You are all in my daily prayers! Jamie | |||
