Great info on the critical role of iodine deficiency in thyroid suppression. Lugols is a wonderful antiseptic for topical applications, but remember... with internal use, too much of a good thing is not helpful and can in fact be dangerous.
Glad to hear that you got some relief from the itching/stinging symptoms using the Benadryl cream. A powerful anti-histamine, it may well reduce inflammatory cytokine profiles. Used topically, it should not make you near as sleepy as it does ingesting it.
