This topic came up on today’s conference call, and Mel asked me to write a post about it. The topic was hair. One of our new community members asked about hair on today’s conference call, and of course, we told her that she should put “hair” in the search engine for lots of good ideas. However, I’ve had a new idea I’ve been trying over the last three weeks or so, and have had good results. Because of this I shared this info in response to her question on the conference call, and now am putting it on this hair thread so to make sure I give all the details. My hair issues aren’t from it falling out...they’re from it breaking off. I have gone through it falling out before, but have found that the Logos Fabulous Hair tablets have helped with that. What I’m talking about here is treating hair breakage. I know when this is happening when I’ll see little half inch blonde hairs on my black yoga pants after blow drying. I’ve gotten it to stop breaking off intermittently with various approaches over the last couple of years (Kleen Green...Oasis shampoo, sulfur soap, etc), but had often wondered what “it” was that was creating this issue. Caveat and disclaimer here...what I’m about to say isn’t from something I read...it’s from connecting some dots and then coming up with a theory of the cause and a potential treatment that has been working for me. I believe our hair strands...single hairs...get coated with biofilm. As we know, biofilm is the result of pathogens banding together to exchange dna and create a substance (for lack of a better term) that resists treatment. I’ve actually had hairs that have been covered in what looks like a white cottony substance. I could see it when I took a pic of a hair that fell out with this on it and then enlarged it as much as possible. So...it’s safe to say, something is coating the hair. I learned that serrapeptase will break down biofilm. Serrapeptase is a substance that comes from the silkworm. This substance will help break down the fiber cocoon so the silkworm can morf to its next stage, and, as mentioned, it will work to break down biofilm too. Oh...by the way...Magnifizyme is serrapeptase. With this in mind, I decided to try it on my hair. I’ve been doing this for about three weeks or so every time I wash my hair. I open up a few Magnifizyme capsules and empty them into a little plastic container that I put by my tub. After wetting my hair, I pour some shampoo in my hand and then sprinkle about one capsule’s worth (I eyeball it) onto the shampoo and mix it around with my hands. Then I shampoo my hair with this mixture. I’ve tried it with different shampoos, and it’ll work with any, but I’ve had the best results with the Oasis shampoo from Natural Ginesis. Let it sit on your hair for five minutes or so. You’ll feel “things” happening. I lean forward and rinse the daylights out of it with a hand held shower. This way I don’t allow whatever has been loosened from my hair to wash down the rest of my body. I repeat this for the second lather and then condition and rinse as usual. I like to end with a cold water rinse. I bend forward and do this with the hand held shower because..well...it’s COLD and that way I only get it on my hair and don’t freeze my body to death. I’ve used the cold water treatment on and off for over a year now. It does work when you use it...but I’ve found that this Magnifizyme mixed with shampoo plus the cold water treatment works a lot faster. I now have almost no little broken hairs appearing after blow drying. I don’t know why I went through one of those bad patches with my hair recently because I’m so much better overall...but...if you’re on this site, you know how weird this disease can be, so...go figure. Oh...another thing. If you can stand to, comb through your hair with a wide toothed comb while it’s still lathered up, and then with a very fine toothed comb. That’ll help move some of the loosened whatever it is off the hair strands when you rinse. Some people like to use Kleen Green on their hair and then cap it (new people…”cap it” means putting a cheap disposable plastic shower cap on your head after applying some kind of treatment). Some people have also mentioned that Kleen Green is kind of drying to your hair for long term use. Donna told me about an inexpensive conditioner she found at Walmart. She said it doesn’t have any bad stuff in it...and it’s cheap...around six dollars for a big pump bottle. I love the Oasis shampoo from Natural Ginesis, but will use this conditioner to save some money (though I love Natural Ginesis Oasis conditioner the most). I’ve started using the big pump bottle of Walmart coconut conditioner because my hair has taken such a beating with this disease, and I use a LOT of conditioner. For those of you who want a special treatment outside of when you’re shampooing, I think it might be good to try mixing some Magnifizyme powder with the Walmart coconut conditioner, coating your hair with it, combing it through, and then capping it as a treatment rather than using Kleen Green alone. Some people use coconut oil on their hair, and that would probably work with the Magnifizyme powder too...but I’ve found coconut oil difficult to shampoo out of my hair. That’s why I’m thinking to maybe use it as a separate treatment with a conditioner instead. I’ve also used Magnifizyme emptied out into a little bowl with coconut oil to rub on my problem skin area. I’m talking about the hard nodules under the skin...which is biofilm. I’d mentioned this treatment on a prayer call a while back and on today’s conference call Donald said he’d tried it and didn’t get results. That’s because I forgot to say exactly how to do it. Sorry! I’ll fix that right now. Here’s how you do it. I’ve experimented around with this several times, and have found that you have to keep rubbing it into your skin for quite some time (I’ve found even up to 30 minutes) to get results. By results I mean getting ‘debris’ to come out. That’s my goal when I do this because when I do get that to come out, the underlying nodule or cyst (biofilm) will flatten out and decrease in size. Of course we all know that topical applications are just a small part of dealing with these types of skin issues. The real results come from how we’re addressing it on the inside of our bodies with the protocol...and that great pathogen killer, WPS. However, sometimes you need to do a little topical treatment too on your skin, and I’ve found this works well. It’s kind of weird though...I rub it in over a period of time and no results...and the all of the sudden, a lot of things start appearing on top of my skin all at once...way more than from any other topical applications I’ve used. I guess the serrapeptase (Magnifizyme) has to get down into the skin and then requires some time to break down the biofilm. That’s what makes sense to me, anyway. I’m not sure if serrapeptase used often on the hair will cause any harm...I just don’t know. Maybe it’ll start breaking down the hair since hair is a kind of “fiber” if it’s used a long time. John B., if you're reading this, what do you think? So far, I’ve had no problems with this treatment...only positive results. My hair breakage has started to go away with this approach, but it’s good to be cautious too. Oh...and...also be cautious when using the skin treatment. It’s easy to get kind of addicted to this skin treatment when you see so much “stuff” exfoliate out of your skin. If you get the results I did (after about 30 minutes of rubbing) you will find that it’s tempting to want to do it over and again to try to “get it all out” though we know that won’t happen by just doing skin treatments. I overdid it and actually had some bleeding. Don’t do that. Oops! This got long...but...I wanted to be thorough in explaining how this has worked for me. I hope it helps others too. I’m going to send Mel a pic of the Walmart coconut conditioner, so if you see a pic of conditioner at the top of this post, that’s what it is. Hope this helps. Love, Karen | |||
