It is amazing that this website exists and has done for over a decade. It was created by Mel who promised God (through a conversation with a red tailed hawk one day) that he would help others if he got well from this disease. He more than kept his promise!!!! Well, those birds of prey that Mel loves so much they are strong, resilient and determined creatures. They don't have an easy life out there, yet they adapt to their circumstances and learn how to survive. They also enjoy soaring high up in the wind and flying on the breeze. They will live for the moment, do what they need to do and utilise any skills they have learned along the way. It is no coincidence that Mel relates to those birds. He shares with them a similar strength of character, will to survive and a dogged determination to succeed against all the odds. This disease is a tough nut to crack. It’s really very hard indeed to go it alone. We need this community, its advice, care, support, wisdom, knowledge and help. It provides arm bands to help us swim in often stormy seas. Many of us arrived here, sometimes after years with no safety net whatsoever. We all need a safe harbour in times of trouble and difficulties. Especially when the world at large still does not acknowledge our disease If you are struggling, especially in the treacherous early stages of this illness and feel you need that extra bit of support, call Mel for one on one coaching. Mel's fees are very reasonable and he will encourage you to stay the course, that is until you reach the shores of wellness on the other side.
