In my humble opinion, there are way too many freeloaders on this site to make it a viable and sufficient source of sustainable income for you to continue spending the 60 or so hours a week you spend on helping these people. What if your site went dark for a week or so to get your point across. Some people just don’t pay it forward no matter how much help they get.
Sound harsh? Maybe, but after years as your neighbor, of watching you struggle to fund this site and your own expenses, I am very disappointed in the lackluster response you get in your appeals.
Frankly, I think the subscription should be $20-25.00 a month. People only seem to value what they actually pay for. The $5.00 a month is not the problem. It appears to be a tight-fisted mentality and no sense of financial worth for the wonderful service you provide.
Go dark… Light a spark. Those who value the service will hopefully come to their senses and start paying it forward, to
help you meet your sustainability needs.
I also feel your rental pain. This landlord has risen my own rent here by hundreds a month for the last three years. On a low, fixed income, that in itself is unsustainable even for us, so I know how this must be impacting you, for no one must believe that you don't make a lot of money.
Finding and moving to a lower rent solution is not an easy task—even if one could save the $3,000 or so moving expense plus the first and last month, plus a security deposit.

Praying for you that the PEOPLE you help and helped, will come through for you before your site has to go dark just from the unsustainability of it all.
