I noticed you have grandchildren and wanted to post a response to some of your concerns. I had 2 grandchildren when I first started battling MD almost 3 years ago. I now have 4 blessings and have not held the babies.
I visit with my grandchildren in public places (parks, lunches,). Before I leave my house I shower, wash my hair, spray myself and clothing with Kleen Green. I also spray my car with Kleen Green. But mostly, I do a lot of praying to God asking for his protection for them.
You should assess your environment and yourself before allowing them into your home. This is such a personal decision that you must feel confident with.
My advise is to take baby steps as you begin to restore your health. I believe this is one of our thresholds to overcome along with the disease.
I would encourage you to see them and keep the communication open. You will know in your heart along with other signs (less symptoms) when it is safe to hold them. This is only from my perspective and other members will also share their perspectives and experiences.
I hope this helps you. Please know you are not alone with this. My heart so desires to hold my grandchildren and it has been a lonely walk. However, it is getting better; so know there is a light.....
