WOW!!! Another new country visits the country - just now as I looked at the list!!! ETHIOPIA! We welcome you!, Number 99.
That's right 99 countries have visited our website!!
The official name is: the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. It is a landlocked country in the Horn of Africa (northeast side of Africa).
Ethiopia is Africa's oldest independent country and its second largest in terms of population. Apart from a five-year occupation by Mussolini's Italy, it has never been colonised.
It has a unique cultural heritage, being the home of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church - one of the oldest Christian denominations - and a monarchy that ended only in the coup of 1974.
It served as a symbol of African independence throughout the continent's colonial period, and was a founder member of the United Nations and the African base for many international organizations.
As you may know, over the recent months there has been conflict in the Tigray area of Ethiopia.This is due to a state election deemed unconstitutional that has escalated as the federal government has sent in troops.
Let us pray for the people of Ethiopia and for the person(s) who have come to the HICM website.
