Donna...this is great info, and so timely before our cooking conference call this weekend. Thank you for taking the time to dig back through the old posts to share all of this.

It was so interesting to read...and I'd like to share my two "take aways" from what you posted:

1. There's a huge common thread in what we know is bad for us...like sugar, starches, additives, etc. This has been evident from early on, and those who have gotten well have judiciously avoided all of the above. It's a non-negotiable.

2. We can use food to help control our Ph, and that is a very helpful way to make more progress toward recovery. The list in the old posts is excellent in terms of offering information about the levels of alkalinity and acidity in particular foods. However...please do not see that to mean we can eat everything on that list. The list is for reference purposes only...there are many foods on that list we cannot eat.

3. While the above items have remained the same, there are some things that have changed or need some clarification.

Here they are (new list):

1. Chelsea mentions that she ate bananas...but we now know that bananas are high in carbs. Carbs will feed the disease.

Here are some other foods mentioned in the old posts that are also high in carbs:

beans, legumes, brown rice, brown rice bread, fruit

We now know that controlling carbs will lead us to the finish line faster, and consuming too many carbs will move the finish line out of reach...so...no high carb foods unless you want to feed the disease.

However...some low glycemic / low carb fruits can be ok in moderation later on in your recovery journey. These are mostly berries...strawberries, blackberries, etc. More on this topic at this Saturday's conference call.

2. Chelsea mentions she gave up meats, chicken, and fish because they are all acid.

We now know that we should include these things in our diets in moderation. We have some tools to help us balance the Ph though...one is the time of day we eat them, and another is to increase things that are alkaline...like lots of leafy greens or even a green smoothie...especially at the evening meal. Another great tool is the Magnifigreens supplement from Logos which will help get your Ph at a better level.

Even with these restrictions, there are still many wonderful foods and dishes we can enjoy. As it's been said...'knowledge is power," and I'm really looking forward to this Saturday's conference call where our collective knowledge can be further shared for the benefit of all.

Love,

Karen
