Thought I would give you an update on Val, the huge Great Dane! First, Two months ago, they took Val to the vet and got some surprising news! The vet said Val seem to be growing at an unusual rate. He said some Great Danes can grow larger than normal and he felt Val was going to be one of the larger Great Danes! My daughter was shocked and spluttered, " But she was the runt of the litter, how can that be?? The vet said being a runt at birth did not matter, some just grow larger!! This is so funny because remember my daughter wanted a cute little lap dog and Nick got her the Great Dane!! Second, early on Nick & Natalie had told the vet, they wanted to spay her and send her to intense training. He suggested they wait until Val had her first cycle, then spay and then send her for training. So...they have been waiting. Recently, it happened. So Natalie went to the pet store to get dog diapers. Well of course, they didn't have any large enough, so she had to special order overnight. Natalie said when they put the diaper on her, it was hilarious!! First, just to see such a large dog wearing a bright red diaper (they came in bright colors) was funny in itself, but Val's reaction to the diaper was hilarious!! She walked funny and kept shaking and stretching one leg at a time while she walked to try and get it off!! Natalie said they laughed so hard, they both cried! I told her I wished she had videoed it, I would loved to have seen it!! It took some scolding and praise for her to leave them on, but I'm happy to report she got used to them pretty quick. Nick says she will do anything for Natalie!! Third, Val recently had a birthday!!! Yes, can you believe it, she is 1 year old!! However, a Great Dane is not fully grown til they are 2. Recently, on facebook, I saw a man who painted his face just like his Calico cat! Orange, black, & white. Of course it made me laugh. But, before I reposted it I typed at the top - Quarantine - this guy has entirely too much time on his hands!!! I have seen some other funny and insane things and started typing and reposting with - Once again, too much time!!! And so.....this is exactly what I thought when my daughter sent me a video of Val,s Birthday Party!!!! I will try and send it to Mel!! there is a Happy Birthday Banner taped up on and across the bar, she had cupcakes ( doggie treats) and got a present and of course you hear my daughter and Nick telling her Happy Birthday!! Also, she is wearing a red diaper!! IT IS A RIOT!!!! Download Audio File | ||||
