Gut Florea is the good bacteria we need to keep up in our intestines. They are very important in getting the nutrients we need from our food into our bodies through proper digestion. Here are some factors that may upset the balance of intestinal flora.
Chlorinated/fluoridated water (chlorine is in water to kill bacteria and is not selective.) Diets with sugar and other simple carbohydrates. These foods feed and strengthen the undesirable element in the gut. Exposure to radiation (CAT scan, excessive dental and medical x-rays). Heavy use of even natural antiseptic agents like Echinacea, barberry, goldenseal & colloidal silver. Parasites (from traveling or just eating food not properly washed and cooked) Poor digestion (do we really know the effect of acid blockers?) and constipation (creates a toxic environment for good bugs.) Stress (the chronic kind).Toxic chemical intake (our everyday life has many) What to do to improve and keep good gut flora: 1) REST the GI tract รข " cut out the starches and replace those carbohydrates with vegetables. Drink large amounts of water.
2) CONTINUE to use the Essential Flora high quality probiotic in the protocol to maintain sufficient levels of good bacteria in the colon and to enhance your immune system so it can finish the job of eliminating the bad guys.
3) Eat fermented food occasionally. Sour Kraut and Kim Chi are examples of fermented foods.
Godspeed, Peter
