EMBRACE THESE AND SLOWLY YOUR HEALTH RETURNS
Hello, Timothy!

Thank you for the post update!

Mel always says, “Better in than out,” so you are clearly responding to the protocol in a significant way...at least that is what your purges seem to suggest.

Hopefully, you have seen the food thread on the forum. It has a ton of food ideas and recipes, and “The Beginner’s Guide” does the same thing. It’s been a Godsend for me. I chuckled when I read what you do related to your food cravings...if I looked at food I couldn’t eat, it would make me completely starved! :)

I’d love to have a yoga recommendation for you, something that I can do in my home...perhaps a good YouTube video . I have to work really hard to keep anxiety in check, and I’m open to new ideas. My breathing has always been impacted when I am anxious, and I’d like to change that as much as possible.

I’m really sorry that your home situation is periodically stressful. There is likely no person on this forum who has not faced a relative or close friend who absolutely did not believe us, and it negatively impacted the relationship. I cannot speak to my father about it at all. I have lost a few friends, although there is a positive element to that: they probably weren’t true friends anyway. It’s more difficult and upsetting when it is family. You know that you are absolutely NOT delusional, and that’s all that really matters. It is a difficult illness to wrap one’s mind around unless you have it, and even if you have it, there are times when you cannot fathom how something like Morgellons actually exists. I imagine that the best thing you can do for yourself, if you sense that a confrontation with family is imminent, is to extract yourself as soon as you can from the situation, even if that means leaving the house until you (or the other person) cools down. Stick to your guns, though, about keeping yourself and others as safe as possible.

Interestingly, over the past three years that I have been struggling with this, the medical community is at least slowly becoming more aware of Morgellons. I only see three doctors. Three years ago, only 1 of them had any concept of Morgellons, my Lyme-literate doctor. Since then, that doctor has seen even more Morgellons patients. My other two doctors now have 3 and 6 patients, instead of just myself like it was in the beginning. One of those doctors recently said to me, “Just because we don’t have an understanding of what it is does not mean that it does not exist.” That was a sign of progress. One of my other doctors asked me if I would be willing to speak with one of her three patients with it because I know more about it than she does!

So glad that you have started the protocol and have had a lot of contact with Mel and Chrissie.

Take care of yourself and keep your chin up! A year from now, you will seriously look back and realize what a difference the protocol has made in your life. Just do the best that you can. I tend to do best and make progress when my mind is calm, so finding ways to keep your emotions stable is really important. Mel always tells me that stress is worse than sugar, and he is correct about that.
