This 'down under' thread also put me in touch with others who are here, which has been a source of comfort and information for me. It is important that you know that you are not alone and that there is hope in beating the disease. It is a disease that invades our entire biological system and our environment, so treatment is complicated and requires changes to your lifestyle. Like you, I live in Australia. I am a grandmother/full-time and sole carer of my grandson who is now 3 1/2 years old. I found this site last December and have, by and large, been using Mel's protocol, ever since - for both myself and my grandson. I have had a lot of success with the protocol for my grandson. I have found, though, that it is very important to stay on it - or things will slide backwards again. My journey has not been so easy. I have had a lot of chronic health issues that have complicated my recovery,but I am better than I was before and last week, for the first time in about 10 years, I actually had energy and felt 'normal'. Unfortunately I am sick again - but this is the nature of the illness and, by sticking to the protocol and life changes, I know that my condition will continue to improve. Mel is so right in telling you that you need to 'let go of the fear'. Believe me, I know exactly what you are going through. I gave up discussing this illness with my family and most doctors. Instead I discuss it with the 'family' I have found here. I am happy for you to ask Mel for my email address and will give you some time (should you want to talk)and/or information, where I can. Try and be strong. It's not too hard to get the protocol products. There are things you can do in the meantime to begin to get your life back on track. I know it is very worrying to deal with a sick child. I also found comfort in praying. I thank God every day for guiding me here and I am happy to pass on the help that others have given me.
