7:21:46 AM | Hi everyone, I've just recently discovered Morgellons and honestly the whole thing is freaking me out. I'd been on a lot of antibiotics for an eye infection when I suddenly noticed the appearance of dark little smudges on my face and then tiny black threads. So far they've appeared on my cheeks, neck, hands and chest. It started around 4 weeks ago, and just this week I noticed red dots in my face - one with a hard little black bump in the centre, and slight itching on my scalp.
What I would really like to know is whether Morgellons is a disease with a progression of symptoms. Based on what's happened so far, can I expect worse down the track? Does it keep going to the point of the open sores and lesions I'm reading about, or is there a chance this is the worst of it?
I don't know what to think or what to do. The eye specialist who was overseeing my case knew about Morgellons and said it was a 'black hole' in medicine with no apparent answers. Ive been reading this site, which has been great, and I've booked an appointment with a doctor who is also a naturopath in the hope he might be able to help. If anyone else is out there in Sydney who I can connect with, could you please contact me? I would love to connect. Although my family is supportive, they find it hard to understand and I can't help but feel anxious. |
