Sounds like you’re off to a great start. Take your time going through stuff. I still have some things upstairs and in my attic to go through and plan on throwing a lot away. The “stuff” just isn’t worth the risk. However...there are a few things that are just too sentimental to toss...so...my plan is to create a “decontamination tank” (my term) to rid the items I want to keep of any potential problems. I have a small bathroom upstairs I never use, so my idea is to use the ozone machine in that small space with the door closed to really “nuke” the daylights out of the items I want to keep.
Many of these items are books, so I guess I’ll need to stand them up with their pages spread open. Will try it this summer and share on a post how it goes.
I’d imagine creating a “tank” and using a bowl or two of WPS might work as well for anyone who doesn’t have an ozone machine. Maybe I’ll experiment using both and compare the two.
I won’t have time to fool with it until this summer though. Maybe someone else can try it out before and report back.
In any case, don’t get in a hurry Julia. Just attempt a little at a time.
Love,
Karen |
