I loved reading all the posts encouraging our wonderful community to help Mel move. I totally agree Mel deserves to have a home where he can be happy, as stress free as possible, and financially comfortable. Mel has been a godsend in my life He has over the last 30 months become not only a coach but a friend. Even though I have been well for a little over a year, we still chat at least once a week. I'll be honest here, when I spoke to Mel for the first time in December of 2017, I thought he was rather abrupt and gruff. It was his birthday, but I didn't know it at the time. I wasn't sure that I wanted to go through with the program but after a few more phone calls, I realized he was like my father and some of my past teachers. Let me explain a little further. My father was career military and always seemed to show his stern exterior but really was a kind and loving person/parent. He just wanted you to know that he was the "boss" but had your best interest at heart. I miss him to this day. The same goes for some of the best teachers I ever had - they were often considered the "hard" teachers but were the nicest and most compassionate people I ever met. Their goal was to encourage you to achieve your personal best. I am truly grateful to them. So you see, if it hadn't been the fact that I had people in my life like Mel, I probably would have given up. Thank goodness I didn't but more importantly, thank you Mel for not giving up on me! In appreciation for all Mel has done and continues to do, I am sending a financial gift to help with his move. If others would like to send a gift to Mel through the HCAF, simply click on the Donate link in this post, make a donation, and put "FOR MEL" in the place for comments. Don't forget to put "FOR MEL".
