So happy to hear that you have decided to stay where you are and FIGHT. I resonated with everything you wrote. This dis-ease comes with a STEEP learning curve and at a time when we are so vulnerable to everything...especially bugs! I got a taste of something similar the other night myself. This week has been a real challenge for me with a heat wave causing so many symptoms to explode within my body. The other night I was so exhausted and miserable in my skin that I went to bed at 3:00pm! It felt good simply to lie still to minimize the discomforts. But as soon as it started to turn dark and as I was drifting off into what I hoped would be a good slumber, I felt all kinds of things landing on me. You most likely know the drill...are these REAL bugs or Morgellons? As I reached for the bedside lamp I noticed hundreds of moths flying around. Reluctantly I forced myself out of bed with my arms flailing like a crazy woman! Springtime breeds moths here in Arizona. Much like your millipedes. At first I tried to "catch and release" because I don't like killing things either... but there were too many for me to cope. So I ended up getting my vacuum out and sucked them up all the while talking to these moths that I gave them every chance to be gently caught and set free. Sometimes it seems so unfair that we are forced to deal with situations above and beyond this dis-ease. I don't know why we are forced to battle all we do...but I remind myself often that God doesn't give us more than we can handle. Sometimes as I speak to Him I declare that He must have more confidence in me than I do, and I remind Him that I am maaxxxed out (as if He doesn't know, right?). My newest mantra is "I can do all things through Him who gives me strength". I believe that is Phillipians 4:13 (I really don't know the Bible, but I'm learning). I must say or think that verse at least 100 times every day. So Chrissie, my friend, I believe it's important we both remember that WE ARE STRONG even when we feel miserable, and no matter what We Can Do This! And we ARE doing it! One day we will look back at our journey and realize just how strong and resilient we are. Life will be good again. Until that day arrives...stay strong and remember to be as good to yourself as you are to Holly. And it is a comfort to know we have the power of this community to help us through. Be blessed Chrissie, Brenda | ||||||
