We had a lovely heartwarming prayer call on Sunday 3rd of march:-).
There were new people who joined our trusty band of regulars. It is always great when people pluck up the courage to join us. And we welcome you all with open arms!!
Anyone who is reading this and is not sure whether to join us or not, please do. We are sorry that you are also unwell with this. But we do not wish anyone to be alone in it. A big part of our healing is to get past the isolation, to reach out, to be heard, understood and validated. Camaraderie is important and we have that. We also often have laughter even amidst the tears! And you know, even just a little laugh can help the day be a little bit brighter:-).
The Sunday prayer call is not recorded. It is there as a place of worship, support and fellowship. It provides a spiritual and emotional lifeline to those who are unable to go to church because of this disease.
Thank you Mel for providing this prayer call for us all:-). We are blessed to have it! It is indeed a spiritual breath of fresh air, to help us all to cope.
As our very own Ol' Saint Nick eloquently said on Sunday the prayer call, "takes the loneliness out of the disease." I for one was nearly crying when he was saying that. It was very touching and truthful.
We all care about each other. It is a community in the true sense of the word. Because if we don't hear from someone for a few weeks we are wondering how they are, thinking of them, praying for them and sending hope their way that all is well.
So... Join us.
Love Chrissie. |
