If you are ever tempted, as I have been, to 'cheat' with a soda, I think you should know something about it.
SODA: A Sure-Fire Formula for Acidity
SODA IS 10,000 TIMES MORE ACIDIC THAN BLOOD!
PH stands for the 'Power of Hydrogen' and is a logarithmic scale from 1-14 with a neutral pH of 7 in the middle. Each whole number less than 7 represents a 10-fold increase in hydrogen (more acid) so that blood with a pH of 6 have 10 times more hydrogen (acidity) than blood with a pH of 7 (neutral) and blood with a pH of 5 has ten-times-ten (100-fold) more hydrogen (acidity) than blood with a pH of 7 and so on.
The pH of soda is 3.4 The pH of normal human blood is 7.4 The difference in pH is 4 which means that soda is ten-times-ten-times-ten-times-ten (that's four tens) more acidic than blood.
That means soda is 10,000 times more acidic than blood.
Theoretically, if you drank enough soda on an empty stomach, your heart could stop from a too-fast pH drop.
Thinking about cheating....DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT SODA!!!
