I agree wholeheartedly with Mel regards our need as toxic disease sufferers to cultivate patience and other positive emotions and coping strategies. It is imperative to our healing to do so. Absolutely, it is part of the, 'sum of the parts.' Sometimes people in our community focus on the physical journey at the detriment of the emotional and spiritual. They have the right food /supplements but if they don't work on distress, sadness, emotional pain, frustrations and a sense of loss they won't get better. It doesn't matter how many greens or protocol pills they ingest. They are only part of the journey. They may refrain from sugar, but when stressed, cortisol provides the body with glucose. Elevated cortisol over the long term leads to increased blood sugar levels. Excess cortisol also suppresses the immune system over time. The digestive system and absorption of nutrients can also be compromised re cortisol. Your sleep patterns and energy can be affected also. It is true that this is a very difficult disease to cope with. Healing requires much effort over time, emotionally, physically and spiritually. There is no magic wand. However, it can be done as Mel said with forbearance which is patient self control, restraint and tolerance. We want to be healed yesterday. We want to wake and it was all a bad nightmare long gone in the night. Alas, we do have to work hard and wade through the trenches to the fields of poppies at the other side. That's why Mel says that this journey is, 'not for the fainthearted.' The excellent news is that we have been given the resources to help us re the website. What a wonderful resource of education and insight it is!! We have the medicines and the correct diet. We have the Saturday call to help us perfect the,' sum of the parts,' and the Sunday Prayer call as a little oasis of calm with fellow sufferers to help us through. We have Mel's knowledge and expertise re his one on one coaching for those that need that extra individually tailored support. However, the first thing we all need is our own complete commitment to ourselves and our healing. It takes a lot of emotional strength to endure long term health difficulties. However, bit by bit, with all our effort, the disease will start to lessen in time. That is where perseverance comes in. Don't measure your health re where you want to be. Measure it by how far you have come on your healing journey. It takes time. Be gentle on your mind, body and spirit. Today make it your priority to address your own stress management. Are you getting enough sleep? If you cannot sleep, at least rest as much as you can. Breathe deeply, employ relaxation techniques. Get out in the fresh air and breathe it into your lungs. Address your emotions, reassure yourself, watch your self talk. Be gentle in how you address yourself. It is not your fault that you have this disease and you must make it as manageable for yourself as you can. Healing requires self love and nurturing. You can't rush the process. It takes time to build up the bioterrain, just as it took time to break it down. You need all the support that you can get. Our community will help you, God will help you and you must help yourself on every level. God bless us all, keep us safe and encourage us in all we do. Chrissie | |||
