Hi Tricia,

I'm so glad you posted this message. I, too, was just wanting to feel normal. Here's the thing. If you avoid sugar and processed foods you will feel better and live longer. As a person who is completely cured, I get comments from people wanting to follow the same eating plan because I look so much better and was able to cure myself of this disease without any medical help. Pretty miraculous!. I can eat anything I want now, so when you get well, you will be able to also. When I do eat too much junk or sugar though, I feel lousy and it shows up in blotchiness on my skin, so I get right back on track. There are some great dessert recipes on the Paleo websites that you can try if you like sweets.

What helped me to stay focused was to remind myself every day that we ALL need to change the way we live and eat and if you aren't convinced, watch the film, "Fed Up". If I hadn't gotten sick, I wouldn't have been motivated to make all the changes in the way I ate.

So let's hope that what we are doing in a positive way to help ourselves will become "normal", and that everyone's "regular" food is part of a healthy plan based on plants, non GMO, no pesticides and non-processed foods. As a nation, we are becoming ill from our lifestyle choices, and the cost to society for health issues from our poor diet is no longer sustainable. If I seem over-zealous, it's because I saw the movie two days ago. I hope it starts a revolution.

I hear you when you say, "Please pray for me to have the strength to keep up this fight." Maybe reframing the issue will help. Instead of what you are giving up, you could treat yourself to the best looking produce and quality proteins, and spend time cooking yummy recipes from the foods you love. This disease is tough, but so are we. Remember to treat yourself well while you are healing. You are worth the effort!

Best to you in your journey,

Ellen
