You are right that the Byrds did sing "Turn, Turn, Turn", and there is a time and a place for everything. My parents always told me there was a time and a place for everything when I was growing up. Usually when they said that, it was an indication that I had done something at the wrong time and place ;-) But since you are such a sweet little dog, I am sure that your actions are always appropriate for the time and place you are at :-) Holly, I hope you will not get upset when I tell you that what they would have said in the 60's is not "groovy kids" but "groovy cats" or "cool cats", and if they really liked something they might have called it "the cat's meow". This might seem confusing to you, but them speaking like this was in no way a slight on dogs. Who knows where phrases like this start? In a later decade it became the in thing for young people to call their friends "dawg", pronounced "dog". So one person might walk up to a friend of theirs and say, "Hey, what's up dawg?" and that might actually mean, "Hello friend, what's going on with you today?" (I hope you didn't look up when you read that, Holly.) I only tell you that so that you know that "cats" and "dawgs" can both be "friends" ;-) Thank you for sharing the Byrds video, "Turn, Turn, Turn". It is a very pretty song and I really like the nice pictures in it too :-) You might be surprised to learn that humans with fur on can sit in the seats on a plane. The only place on a plane where you can eat and drink to your heart's content is first class, and that is exactly where a person wearing fur would probably be sitting. People who can't afford to fly first class get put in seats that are small and very close together. While you are sitting in one of those small, cramped seats, a flight attendant might come by and ask if you want water or a soft drink. You might also get offered a bag of peanuts or something, if the flight is long enough. If you are on a plane trip and have a nice roomy kennel with meaty meat treats and a bowl of water, you might actually be happier in there than sitting in one of the seats on the plane. By the way, your mum's furry hat with the spaniel ears sounds very cute. I can see why you were very flattered. I have seen humans wear hats with dog ears, but I have never seen a dog wearing a hat with human ears. That proves to me that dog ears, and especially spaniel ears, are much much cuter :-) I am very glad that you like my southern lingo. I think your woof is quite admirable as well :-) As is your tail that shimmies. I can see why you would be very proud of it. I am honored that you would want me to be your talent agent, as it does sound like you have true talent and would be willing to share your dog biscuits with me. All I can say is that if you are discovered, I will try to promote you for walking the boards but I will keep you away from having to walk the plank. Dear Holly, it is not that I like gravity, it is that gravity has always liked me. The closer I have stayed to the surface of anything, the better it has always been for me. So, it would be a very, very unusual thing for me and my husband to be jumping or springing about. I can say with confidence that up to this point it has never happened :-) It was very kind of Deanna, and you, to say that I am intuitive. I know you want to share in everybody's fun, but sometimes you just have to be happy that they are happy. You can run, bounce, smile, shake your ears, and wag your tail to show your delight that they are happy. You can do those things while they are going about doing whatever it is that is making them happy. If they look over and see you doing those things that express you are happy, they might smile and be happy in their own way that you are happy. Then everybody's happy :-) I guess my husband was trained to a certain extent by his parents who taught him the things he needed to know as a child. It is parents (like your mum) who teach things like toilet training. And while you want to spend your entire life with your mum, humans will usually leave their parents at some point. There are many things that a human might do once they leave their parents, getting married being one of them. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with me, sweet Holly. You are a smart little dog to remember that there is a time to laugh, and that we should always view the glass as half full. God bless you and your mum. Auntie Cheryl | ||||||
