I am sending my very first post so that you will have it in case I can't figure out how to put it on the forum, or in case I lose it somewhere in the process. But, so is laughter and there is plenty of it! You can tell that these friendships run deep! The purpose of Mel’s life has been and still is built around helping save as many lives as possible that have been shattered by toxic diseases. These warriors are here for two reasons, to get healthy and to support others to do the same! There is so much generosity and wisdom. Each group member lifts others up with encouragement and support. The foundation Mel created is for members who may benefit from the nonprofit at some point in their health journey. The community is an example of God-loving, kind, committed individuals who are quick to respond to a post or offer answers to questions. This is the kind of social network every living, breathing person could appreciate. The sense of belonging is real. People who are in this community voluntarily join in conference calls and contribute time and energy for years even after they are well. It is done from gratitude to Mel and his community to pay it forward and contribute nuggets of wisdom to the newcomers who desire to see the other side. Truly, warriors and servants! With Mel’s light-hearted (and sometimes ornery) laughter and sense of humor, he focuses on the positive, no horror stories. Mel even added joke time to the Sunday calls because of the positive endorphins that laughter produces. They are opposite of the endorphins produced by sugar and stress.
