STRENGTH FOR TODAY by SHARON BROYLES

HOPE AND A FUTURE

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Catherine Marshall came into the public eye as the wife of Dr. Peter Marshall, chaplain to the United States Senate. His sudden death in 1949 left her to raise their son alone. She began to write by compiling her late husband's sermons and prayers before choosing to share her own story.
Marshall was not a stranger to suffering. As a young mother, for a period of almost two years, she had been bedridden with tuberculosis. That time was particularly difficult for a pastor's wife. The church she had come to serve was now serving her. Much later, in 'To Live Again', she wrote about her own growing relationship with God throughout illness and grief. She didn't know then that her life would hold another marriage, stepchildren, grandchildren, and a dozen more books.
"God had been in the past," Marshall wrote. "Then He would be in the future, too...Always He had brought adventure--high hopes, unexpected friends, new ventures that broke old patterns. Then out in my future must lie more goodness, more mercy, more adventures, more friends."

God of my past, present, and future, when I can't
see what's ahead for me, You can. Thank You for
the promise that it will always be something to
look forward to. TODAY I Will HOPE IN YOU.

(HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!)
