12/1/2017 3:03:27 PM | Hi Laura That much is definitely true, it has been very difficult working out where to start, and then every next step. Getting on the protocol is without question an immediate next step from here. Also the laundry suggestions and looking more into that, as you said. Thank you for your pointers on that, they sound like a solid base to work from, and it's also a good idea to search laundry and see from that what might work for me. I'm very wary that I don't get ahead of myself, akin to the wise words of your late father, that I don't rush through steps trying to run before I can crawl/walk. So even though I intend to gradually put further steps into action day by day, I don't consider myself to have gotten anywhere near mastering the last step yet. I am losing a lot of weight still and hungry a lot, and still don't have enough viable substitutes yet for the foods that I can't eat. It still very much seems as if the list of things that I can eat/drink, is tiny, while the list of things that I can't eat/drink, includes virtually everything. I wanted to try and put into practice a suitable/acceptable diet for recovery/going forward, before I got on the protocol or rushed into too many further steps, as a basic foundation to work from. Also that I would feel fairly comfortable that I could maintain it short and long term, if it's going to have to change for the rest of my life. I have got some stevia now, that Ruth posted about, but even that says 'carbohydrates (of which sugars)' on the ingredients so I really don't understand the rules. I had some pasta made from lentils the other day for example, is that ok? The sauce was homemade by my Mum, and had good quality minced chicken in it, and was also tomato puree based. Is any of that any good to me, going forward, or are my attempts misguided? I know that tomato is a fruit, even if not one for a fruit salad, but then acidity-wise is it problematic in that sense too? I've read contradicting things about chicken/fish, eggs/milk/cheese, fruit etc. I've still been mostly eating omelettes (mushroom or cheese?), with salad (and mayonnaise?) and baked beans (from a tin?), or fish in a hollandaise sauce, or chicken with cooked broccoli and cauliflower, sometimes also green beans and carrots. I've slipped up and had pineapple juice a few times this week, a couple of bananas, a few gluten free oat biscuits, and this week I even failed as badly as to have a twix, which I obviously know for myself already is on the list of things that I definitely can't eat again. I really do try and read about diet and have spent hours doing so including hours on this site since finding it, but it always leaves me feeling uncertain if I can have anything beyond tea, distilled water, lemon, lime, lettuce and just spins my head. Maybe with my learning style, my best hope is if somebody who doesn't mind and is patient enough to tell me what I'm doing wrong, can put me right as I go along. I am still looking into diet and recipes as much as I can, and will continue to, but at the present I still don't have enough substitutes and am waking up with belly rumbling. After meals, no alternatives for desert (had previously cut out everything but fruit) and so sometimes giving in to temptation. When out, going for dinner with friends or family, staying away from home - I'm lost about what I can do in practice realistically, that still satisfies my protocol and recovery. On a different note to that, a 'previous next step' that I was sure about, was to get some kleen green, which I now have. I still need to get a spray bottle, but I diluted some at 1:7 ratio and have been applying it to my face and scalp, neck and upwards really, since yesterday. I also had a bath today with some concentrated in it. I don't want to comment too much, too early, but it has seemed to have some soothing effects so far. My hair is tingling right now but it sort of feels a different kind of tingling. Still itchy but not quite as painful somehow. One big lesion near my temple, that has been there for weeks/months, has gone down quite a bit, and an increased amount of fingernail-like bits, have come out of some of my most badly affected follicles on my hairline. The ringing in my ears has been bad today at times and usually it seems more noticeable in my left ear, but just now I noticed a sudden intense whirring in my right ear. I will keep applying and bathing in it and also try to put into action other uses for it as I go along, like laundry as you mentioned and environment. Thank you for simplifying the basic steps for me as well, I feel like I understand the process a bit more now, ie use>spray>bag>wash. Thank you for your help and encouragement, and to borrow from the analogy of your Dad's - helping me to put my car in gear before I try to set off. I live in hope that indeed what is ultimately revealed, will render all of this suffering insignificant, or worthwhile to the point of it seeming insignificant. Apologies that my reply wasn't sooner and I hope you're well and that you've had/been having a good week. God Bless John |
