Hi Laura

Firstly, apologies that it has taken me so long to get back on here, to see and reply to your post.

Thank you, that is helpful to me to look at it broken down like that. Usually the less I understand something, the more I rely on simple instructions, which seems pretty logical now as I'm typing it, so it suggests that I am still a long way off understanding this despite the years of researching, learning/mislearning/unlearning/relearning etc.
My pH levels when I check them, seem to consistently be within that range, but then they seem to have remained so regardless of diet and other factors, as I began to monitor it before I made changes to diet, or did detoxes or trialed weeks without smoking etc,
(seemed a scientific approach on the most basic level) so I don't know what to read into it - hopefully it's just as simple as my pH levels being generally ok. I am still preparing to start the protocol in the new year and I have pretty much eliminated sugar from my diet. From what I could gather, I thought I was advised to avoid it completely even sugars from fruits, so I have tried my best. I've had small amounts of pineapple juice and slipped up with the odd gluten free biscuit, but I was seeing them as relapses that I really needed to try to get used to not repeating, rather than even slightly acceptable. The amount of vegetables I eat now, both cooked and cold salad, is incomparable to six months ago, it must have increased in triple-figure percentages.
I'm continuing to take steps towards improving laundry and environment, and reading up alongside advice I've been given here. I continue to take time to pray and listen, and though I'm sure my frustration and weariness make it hard for people around me to tell at times, I am still full of love and not full of hate, which I feel must be more proof of my faith than of my own strength. Maybe they're the same.

Thank you for the pointers on diet and examples of your routine, all very helpful to me. I have been trying to stick to salads when I've been out, as there hasn't been much else on any menus without carbs or that I was confident that I should eat, but I have been having mayonnaise with them, and I have to admit that I have really struggled because salad seems to be more of an afterthought at most places and are bland. Also that I can eat 3 salads and still not feel as if I've eaten, getting very light-headed from hunger. I did wonder about mayonnaise, so maybe I should also think about trying alternatives and maybe try what you suggested. The more substitutes I have/know of, to things I previously ate, the better chance I'd say I have going forward. Are butter and cheese generally ok for me then? What is it about the organic cocoa bars that make them ok in moderation compared to other chocolate/sugars? Is it to do with preservatives or that there is less refined sugar and more pure cocoa?
Wow, that is interesting about stevia, I only got some as a substitute for sugar after seeing Ruth mention it, I had no idea that it had properties to heal skin and related to this disease. How do you use/apply it for treatment of skin is it a mix with water and just apply to skin?

Thank you so much and God Bless you too. Usually people are happy initially, to invite questions from me, until I start asking them, and then they have always seemed to not be the sort of questions they were expecting or ready for, and seem to begin to regret inviting them. It's a relief that my questions are still welcomed and encouraged and that you and others here, are there for me.
I'm going to try and also type a little update on my last week or so, separately above.

Hope this finds you doing well.
God Bless
John
