I am sorry that you lost your mum recently after her being unwell with dementia for years. It must have been heartbreaking for you that you couldn't see her how you both wanted to, during covid restrictions. The worst part being that she was unable to understand why she couldn't see you.
I am also sorry that you're husband needed surgery, I do hope that the surgery will be successful. And several friends losing their husbands to cancer, what a sad and utterly difficult time for all of them and for you too.
I hope you're being extra gentle on yourself. I know this first Christmas without your mum was super hard for you :-(.
I'm glad that you tightened up your diet and felt the benefit of it.
