Ok Miles...

Pack a lunch...it's a post from me, and I'm not known to be succinct.

Here's the deal:

It's real...and (for me) one of the biggest things I dealt with emotionally was all the gas lighting. Gas lighting is a (quasi) psychological term that means being force fed untrue information or opinions that others have some kind of investment in you believing. And this is one of the most crazy making things anyone can do to anyone else...but that's what we're getting from the medical community. For the medical community, maintaining the status quo of what's been put forth by the infamous CDC study is the bitter pill they want us to swallow. It's not that they're horrible people...but that, as scientists, they worship at the alter of data. All good until the well of data upon which they draw is quite obviously inaccurate. The CDC has refused to believe what is abundantly clear in spite of enormous amounts of evidence. It broke my heart when I realized what was going on...and my own analytical abilities were what told me what is going on. I refuse to believe inaccurate conjecture about myself...and by this I mean any conjecture that I created these symptoms in my head. I have to analyze data all day long in my career...and I'm not always right about everything, but I do know my ability to analyze is a particular strength. Plus...I've had no history of delusional illnesses, aches, or pains. I knew was being gas lighted (by the first few docs I went to) because I read the CDC study. The first class one takes in graduate school is how to analyze research. Is it longitudinal? Is it replicated? What about their control groups? Are they from a big slice of the population or from a pretty narrow group? The answer to these questions was no...No...NO to all. So then one must ask oneself...why? Why would those charged with watching out for the greater good choose to purposefully ignore so many people presenting with the same symptoms?

I did ask myself this question, and the answers I got pretty much rattled my foundations. The people who are supposed to be watching out for us do watch out...but not for the general population...well...not every time at least...and certainly not in this case. They are watching out, but the watch out is for their own interests. I have read speculations as to why and that only upsets me further, so I leave that alone for the most part. The people who should be using the most rigorous types of research techniques have basically manipulated the data. The control group was one huge thing that stood out to me as being manipulated...but I won't go on any more about the study...any one interested can read it for themselves.

Suffice it to say, the doctors (for the most part) use these types of studies as their foundations for decision making. Hey...think of the peer pressure. Going out on a limb and analyzing what's presenting in their offices, and God forbid drawing any logical conclusions that go against the CDC, puts them at risk of ridicule from their peers. So...most of them aren't going to move off dead center. I sometimes wonder at the level of denial and truly strange reasoning they're able to employ to rationalize their diagnoses in spite of what they're looking at and being told by their patients.

Not all doctors though. I have an amazing doctor who recognizes Morgellons. She diagnosed my Lyme disease and listened with empathy as I described my symptoms. She recognized my Morgellons disease and called it that. The next thing out of her mouth was..."It's not psychogenic." Then she handed my a summary of the report that connects Morgellons to Lyme disease (a report conveniently ignored by the CDC). I'd actually read the full report a month prior to her diagnosis...and I was so incredibly grateful that she'd used her common sense to analyze what she was seeing in her office (she said a lot of people come in with our symptoms) and had taken the time and effort to push further in educating her self about it past jumping on the party line of "delusional" which is...when one follows the trail...the pronouncement from the CDC study. It was veiled in some (obvious to me) fluffy terms that left them an out...but that was the conclusion without a doubt...according to this study...if a person presents with these symptoms they are delusional.

It was such an incredible relief to be validated by my doctor...and I thought that meant what she offered must be the answer. Unfortunately...it was not. What she offered was mostly very strong antibiotics, though she did have some supplements she sold as well. I tried it...I'd get a little better then I'd crash back to feeling as badly as I did before taking the Rx.

I finally got with it on Mel's protocol and stopped taking all prescriptions. There is no doubt I'm way better. I'd call my progress at 95%. I'm able to function, work, and am no longer afraid all the time. I still have a hurdle in front of me to get to the finish line, but I know the reason I'm not there yet. It's my own doing...because I haven't been as consistent with the sum of the parts as is required to get all the way to the finish line.

You are getting this early...so I'm telling you. Lose the fear. Get fearlessly on the sum of the parts. Do not be afraid. Those who catch it early have a lot easier time.

Get on the protocol with extreme fidelity and do it now. You'll be so happy you did.

It will save you a ton of money and craziness and you will start getting better pretty quickly.

Taking it all the way to the finish line takes a lot though. It takes a LOT of time and consistency. Many many people get their lives back here (including me) in a good way long before they cross the actual finish line of eradicating it completely.

As for the purging. You are not alone. It is SO scary because it is so weird.

Sit down...take a breath. It's ok. Purging is actually a great thing...it means it's coming out. Celebrate purging! You WANT it out. Don't even worry about what it is. Clean it off and move forward.

If I may offer you some other advice...here it is.

DON'T try to explain this to anyone. Everyone has an opinion about everything. Everyone thinks they know best or "knows somebody who..." etc. etc. etc. They won't understand. And here's the clencher...you don't want them to understand. Because if they understood, they'd be sick...and most people wouldn't wish this on their worst enemies.

Get on the diet...that's the first thing...and don't beat yourself up if you don't understand all of this all at once. There are a lot of pieces and parts to this and it takes a while to get it all going at first.

Go ahead and cry and be mad. You SHOULD be mad...we all should be mad...and we are. However...staying mad doesn't help. Getting a plan of action helps, and this is your solid gold plan of action.

I could go on and on...but I'd just say the same thing. If you want to get well...do this protocol. Getting completely well takes time and a lot of effort, but getting to the point you can live your life again comes a whole lot quicker. If you jump on this with everything you have, you'll be feeling a whole lot better by Christmas.

If you want to talk to people about this...this forum and the conference calls are the place to do it. Don't even try try to explain it to anyone outside this community...well...except your wife. You might want to bring her onboard so she'll understand. There are others here who's spouses offer the most wonderful support even though they don't have the disease. She may be able to get some support from other spouses as well...because this is hard on her too.

It took me way too long to get my mind right and to get onboard. I looked for well over a year for a one shot wonder. I was just SURE I could find something, and all I did was waste a lot of time and and even bigger amount of money. I was just so stuck in denial that this was actually happening to me that I couldn't move forward. Please don't get caught in this trap...use all that emotional energy to decide you're going to kick this thing out of your life. It's also a great lesson on learning to believe in yourself. You know what you see and experience, and you're not crazy.

Crazy is saying the symptoms that people are experiencing in the hundreds of thousands world wide are delusional. Believe in yourself and get with it.

We welcome you. Have faith and be strong. You can do this.

Love,

Karen
