As many of you know, I've been fortunate enough to have found a doctor who actually recognizes Morgellons. I found her in January of 2016 and started taking the medicine she prescribed which included various antibiotics, etc. at that time as well. I'd get my blood work done periodically to check progress. I did this for a little over a year and would notice progress in my lab results sometimes and then the next time, the numbers would look worse...back and forth and I didn't feel like I was seeing all that much progress overall except for the number that measured the level of infection...that one had actually started to go down. In addition to the prescriptions, I'd started using the protocol very sporadically in March of 2016 which is basically equivalent to not using it. Then in December of 2016, I had my first contact through a coaching call with Mel. I felt like I already kind of knew him because I'd been quietly following the site on and off for a little over a year prior. After talking to Mel, I was convinced I needed to get on the protocol for real, and did. My official "real" start date for adherence to the protocol was January of 2017. I was on the protocol, but at that time, I didn't stop taking all the prescriptions. I started noticing an improvement right away, but it was slow progress. During that time, I'd also started getting more involved in the website and also stayed in contact with Mel through coaching calls. After listening to enough conference calls, (including past conference calls) I concluded that it would be in my best interests to stop all of the prescriptions and just do the protocol. This was around the end of April of 2017. By June of 2017, I'd noticed a dramatic difference...a major leap forward in how I felt overall with an increase in energy and a decrease in the expression of skin symptoms. I'd stopped going to the doctor for a while after starting the protocol for real. My last appointment lab work had been in November of 2016, and my results at that time were pretty grim. One number in particular was really scary...it was a CD57 which measures immunity. That one is supposed to be at least 100, and mine was a SEVEN. I didn't go back to the doctor again until September of 2017...so almost a year later, and with a solid nine months of the protocol with a good four months under my belt of protocol only...no prescriptions. I'd gone to the doctor at that point for another reason...to see what was wrong with me...and it turned out to be shingles....but my point is, I went to my doctor's office for another reason. I ended up seeing another doctor in the practice I'd never seen before and little was discussed about my Morgellons or Lyme...the topic discussed was mainly about what was going on with me then. However, I did request and get lab work so I could see where I was compared to the last time. My results were dramatically better...my CD57 had gone up to a 56! That was huge! However...life got in the way and I just didn't go see the doctor again until yesterday. It is SO hard to get an appointment with them...and I stay so busy that I just didn't do it. It wasn't really pressing anyway because I only go to the doctor now as an avenue to get my lab work done...I don't need any more prescriptions. I went in yesterday and filled out the usual paperwork. The page where I was to list medication looked pretty blank after I'd filled it out...basically I had "Logos Nutritionals" protocol written on the page. The first nurse came in...he asked about it. I told him I was so much better and what I was doing. Then the nurse practitioner came in. Sometimes she's the one I see instead of the doctor because the office is so busy. She is wonderful...she's the one who had actually said..."that sounds like Morgellons" on my first visit in January of 2016 when I'd started listing symptoms (I'd seen her first before the doctor on that day). I will love her forever for those words...I just got tears in my eyes, but I digress. She's the one I saw this time. She looked at my paperwork. She remarked about my lack of medications. I just told her the truth. I stopped the prescriptions because I found something better. I'd tried to tell them about the protocol on previous visits, but had been met with very polite "uh huhs" and then move on to another topic. However...this time...I came in looking SO much better. I'd gained weight (too much in my opinion) and my color and overall health and energy is quite different than what it was on my previous appointments. Basically, I presented an appearance of overall health and energy, and she remarked on it. Then I brought up the differences between the two previous lab tests...how much better the last one was after I'd started the protocol, even though the last lab work report was from almost a year ago. As I was talking, she was looking back through my paperwork and REALLY listening. I believe my appearance / energy level plus the hard data from the two previous lab tests was giving her reason to really wonder what I was doing differently. She was very interested in what I've been doing to achieve these results. So...I started telling her. I told her about Mel and his history. I showed her the site on my phone and she even stopped and read Mel's history. I told her about how so many people had gotten well and how Mel is the real deal...and that I’d met him in person and had seen for myself. I asked her to PLEASE tell the doctor about all of this and ask her to visit the website. She said she definitely would...that they get so many people in who are desperate to get better and that they were interested in doing anything they could to help people. I also mentioned how many people had gotten well from illnesses other than morgellons and lyme...and noted one in particular who had gotten well from Morgellons AND Lupus by getting health health back with the protocol. I showed her the part of the website that shows how many people are on the site and all the different counties they are from...and told her about the thousands who visit the site each month. I told her about Logos Nutritionals and she wrote it down...told her that’s the key feature of the protocol and that’s what’s gotten me better, not drugs. Also told her that the protocol is difficult and takes time and discipline but that there is ample evidence that it works. She really listened, and really read what I showed her and said very sincerely that Mel is "remarkable" when I told her what all he does out of the goodness of his heart every day and has done so for ten years. I asked her again to please tell the doctor. I wrote down the website address and Mel's email address and Mel's name and handed it to her and stressed to her that I hoped she would please share this with the doctor. She said she definitely would. Poor Mel! Now he's probably going to get even more swamped than he already is...but I'm just so joyous about my progress that I want everyone to know that this protocol is available...and that it works. As an additional note...this doctor is very kind. She sees people who are extremely ill...chronic fatigue...AIDS...Lyme...Morgellons...all kinds of people other doctors might not be so interested in treating. Her practice is huge...it's very difficult to get in to see her. As noted, it's been a while since I've had an appointment...and when I went in yesterday, something very big hit me. I looked around that waiting room and saw all the faces. I wanted to cry over some I saw. There were people there who were obviously SO sick. They looked like what I used to look like...gray skin...thin...weak...confused...moving slowly...looking very ill. Then I caught a glimpse of myself in the glass windows surrounding the waiting room. I looked energetic...well...alert...and with a good color to my skin. Definitely fatter...but I'll deal with that one later. That's when I really realized how much better I am. That's when I REALLY wanted everyone who deals with this monster disease to know about this protocol. I sure hope the nurse practitioner tells the doctor about it. I wish everyone who is reading this and suffering to be able to feel the joy I feel now. I'm just SO much better in spite of some hell herxing (which I understand is probably some last stage disease dramatics) that I've dealt with this last month or so...but...interestingly yesterday was a very good day...AND...it was also Morgellons Awareness Day. Maybe that's coincidence...or maybe it means nothing. But I'm praying this will turn out to be a good thing for all those who are out there wandering around suffering and not knowing what to do. I sure hope my doctor becomes aware of this protocol! Love, Karen | |||
