little whispers everywhere

It comes when we're least expecting it...a little God wink straight from nature.

Mel had a big God wink when he saw the red hawk when he was so sick...and knew at that point that he'd get well.

Donna saw red birds...and they seemed to appear in her yard every time she needed a boost.

On Friday after work, the minute I pulled into my driveway, a darling little green bird jumped on my passenger side view mirror. He was so cute! I got real still and watched him. He was dancing around on my side view mirror and cheeping his little head off. Then he jumped on my hood and looked right at me through the windshield just cheeping away.

I started talking to him telling him how cute he was...and still he didn't fly away. Then I dug in my purse for my cell phone to take pix. Still he stayed on my windshield and cheeped looking right at me. He jumped back and forth between the side mirror and the windshield which gave me ample time to take multiple pix.

Of course I looked up the symbolism of seeing a green bird. Turns out that is supposed to mean abundance and cash coming your way...SO...I bought five lottery tickets for the big win (60 million in Texas as of last Saturday). No win...but I did enjoy the illusion of a possibility for a day or two which was very entertaining.

I posted the bird pix on FB and someone with a bird identification app told me it was an orange crested warbler (though the orange crests don't really show)...and...that they're native to Texas. I've lived in Texas my whole life and have never seen or heard of one of these birds. He almost looked like a parakeet...but without the distinctive markings.

Once I got through swimming in the shallow end by wanting a straight up concrete symbolic pay off (cash), I began to wonder what else seeing this little guy might mean...and here's what I concluded. God is with me...He has not abandoned me...He hears my prayers and comforts me. Also...green is the color of healing...and I'll take that over cash any day.

Some might say my rambling thoughts are evidence of delusion...and maybe even think it supports the conclusion that those of us with MD are in the crazy club.

No matter...I loved seeing this little green bird...and felt happy watching him dance around on my car.

Love,

Karen
