Thanks for sharing your skunk story. It reminded me of a skunk encounter from a few years back.
A friend and I were walking along a river bank north of Sacramento, CA when we noticed a baby skunk in distress. The skunk was trying desperately to hang on to a rock in the water. My friend and I looked at each other with that "Oh No!!" look. We knew if we didn't try to save it the skunk would die.
But God always provides and as we looked around we spotted pieces of a cardboard box. So we went wading into the river to rescue the distressed but, oh so cute, skunk. He/she was very grateful for our help.
We took the skunk back to my friends house and made it comfortable in a shed she had on her property leaving the door open so it could come and go as needed.
The skunk stayed for a few days. We went in and out of the shed with nourishment and water. And that skunk never sprayed either of us! I believe animals know when people are trying to help.
Perhaps one day we will witness animals and humans living in harmony. |
