| Hello MareLA,
Welcome.
May I suggest that you reread our forum welcome letter and try to utilize all the tools we have provided to make it easier for you to obtain information.
My feelings regarding pools and jacuzzis were shared last year in this very thread (two posts below yours), and I still feel the same way.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me direct. Welcome again.

| After spending time in a jacuzzi last summer, I noticed fibers all over the couch I was laying on. I believe the chlorine in the jacuzzi was the cause of this. |

| I've had the big 'M' for 3 1/2 yrs now and the lesions have been primarily relegated to my once beautiful face, now scarred, pocked, and well worn out. I swam in a fresh water pool in Argentina in the country side that was emptied out and weekly and refilled -a little chlorine in it. Nobody in my giant family contracted it and that was two years ago. But I am currently, have been for a week now, swimming daily in a salt water pool that also contains chlorine. It is cleaned daily. I have one sore on my face, naturally. So far, it is still there, darn thing have had it for like 4 months tried everything. Yes I am one of those LA victims who wasted tens of thousands on every doctor at every top hospital between here and SF and South America. I'm sticking with managing my own health and using only natural, Dr. Bronners, vitamins, yoga, etc. BE WELL ALL. Prayers with you. I will keep you posted. |

| Hiya LD,
Welcome;
Normally I do not respond this quickly, but your question will not only effect you, but others as well.
First let me say I was raised in Key West Fla. and have always loved the water and sun; a real fish.
The warmer the weather, the more chance for our bodies to sweat. The pores of our skin open and this allows Morgellons to spread easier. A pool or jacuzzi has potential to spread this disease, because not all of them are maintained properly.
It should only effect others whose immune systems are compromised, but even if it's only one other person, that's one too many.
I believe I caught Morgellons in a Jacuzzi. For over three years I have not gone in a pool or jacuzzi.
Last summer I started going back into the sun as well as the Truckee river, sitting in a low back chair allowing the cold water to run over my body.
This river comes from Donner Lake, Lake Tahoe and many mountain streams. It is always a little cold. This way, I am getting the benefit of the sun without sweating. I can swim in this river, and swimming against the current is great exercise.
I may not have answered your exact question. These are my thoughts and concerns.
Please be careful.

| I suffer from Morgellons and I also am chronically ill, with two kids. Before I came down with Morgellons, the only way I could get any exercise was from the pool in the summer. Now with the Morgellons, I have not dared to step foot in the pool because I don;t want my kids to get it. I also have four dogs that have Morgellons and I guess it could possibly fly in the pool any ways when the dogs play out there by the pool and or the wind blows. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?...I guess I am wondering if I should maybe keep my kids out of the pool or not? Thanks, LD |

| John B.,G,and Mel,
My grand sons surf and sail off Lido Isle in CA. I know they are at their healthiest then,I suspect one may have morgellons and I notice it subside then. (think we all caught it at the same time) Good ole' vitamin D and salt water..and of course fun!
They post pretty plainly the 'Continated water' signs on the shore and do not allow people to go in water in CA. when it is contaminated.
I know you've said you like Laguna Bch. Mel and I adore the air and smell at the ocean. All the negative ions in the air seem to re juvenate our whole being.
Just a question John B. had to wonder what in the world does a swamp smell like? GATORS???

| Hiya G,
Welcome as always;
I grew up in the florida keys in the 50's, pollution wasn't a concern back then.I have always loved the ocean from it's healing powers to it's beautiful reflection of light and of course the calming sounds it creates.
Unfortunately, one must be careful these days, as John B has mentioned in a earlier post.
As I have mentioned earlier in this thread I now enjoy the beauty of the cold cold Truckee river.

| The ocean is definitely healing... or at least it was meant to be.
I have visited beaches where warnings were posted not to swim because of high bacterial concentrations... not necessarily a good idea if you have open sores.
So just be careful where you go.
I find the beach to be a very relaxing and healing place even if I don't go in the water (like during the winter). I grew up a river rat in Savannah GA, so I love the smell of the marsh. |

| Hey G!
I would love to hear about the ocean too. I think Mr. Mel should have comment on that. Saline (natural ocean water) should be healing I agree...totally. Come in Mr. mel..?
Blessings G -I hope to head for the ocean this summer. Big Hugs, Pamela Mae |

| With regard to the thyroid , this does seem to be a common denominator. Recent visit to Dr, he claimed that he suspected that my issue was a thyroid issue. With regard to the pool, has anyone been in the ocean, saline / salt water is extremely alkaline and very healing. Why would that not be an alternative? I have still heard of others who have done very well and seen improvement near the beach/those living there/ or staying there. Any one who has had that experience please comment.
Thank you! |

| My girlfriend has healed faster than I. Her symptoms actually never got as bad as mine. Likewise, she has been taking thyroid medicine for years. |

| Hi Gina,
I don't think we have enough data yet to make any educated statements as to the relative effects of male or female hormones on this disease. However, given the high incidence of endocrine or glandular suppression (i.e. - thyroid insufficiency), we can say with a comfortable degree of certainty that hormonal imbalance is common to most Morgellons sufferers. As our friend PS pointed out, so is immune imbalance.
This is why Complete Thymic Formula and the Burgstiner Wellness Protocol is such a great foundational support system for Mel's protocol... it is designed to restore integrity to the great majority of organs, glands and organ systems. |

| Gina,
In response to your question: '...could there be a link to male/female hormones??'.
Yes, from my studies regarding the cellular (Th1)and humeral (Th2) immune responses: Androgens bias the immunity towards the Th1 and Estrogens bias the immunity toward the Th2.
I suspect that either a Th1 response or a balanced immune response is needed for control of the pathogens involved in Morgellons.

| I agree the indoor pool did not help me or my kids, but gave temporary relief (day or two only). I think the sunlight could help....we haven't had this a full year yet or in the warm months...so that concerns me. Also, about spreading it....we clean the bathtub out well so as not to spread it to other family members. On a positive note....my son has been healed of it, and me and my daughter seem to be nearly there too! I would attribute our success to healthy eating (alkalnizing foods), molecular silver (sporadically for us), vitamins, probiotics, and natural sunlight exposure (indoors). We use lotions, bodywash, and shampoos with essential oils as well. Meticulous laudering and grooming. I launder with Bonner's peppermint and Arm and Hammer liquid and we don't rewear anything twice...and limit cottons as much as possible...especially for nightwear, including the bedding. When I was really itching...I calmed it down by wearing mostly white clothes...read they don't like the light the white clothes emit. I just wonder, why the 'male' in our family was healed so much easier than us gals...could there be a link to male/female hormones?? |

| When I do an MMS bath, it is like having been in a chlorinated pool without the likelyhood of spreading anything to others. There is a way to do the bath and you should go to the AtoZ website to check that out. Swimming in a chlorinated pool will not cure this if it is truly the morgellons. After all, we'd all be cured if that was so. I used a pool before I figured out what I had and I still had it after that. I would not use a pool now even though I feel I am much better. |

| G,
In my youth I had been in poor health. I didn't have any Morgellons lesions but shed the White Spheres. After swimming in a heavily chlorinated pool all summer my health improved dramatically. Such was the case the following summers.
I have puzzled for years if it was the Chlorine, the copious amounts of sun, exercise, the surge of hormones with the resultant immune boost, or some combination.

| My friend in CA says he gets good temporary relief from swimming pools.
I have heard some say to go to pool, others say STAY OUT OF POOLS.
i myself have not swam in a pool since i got Morgellons |

3/8/2010 10:03:44 PM | Anyone who has seen others.. or themselves become symptom free ..(or at least seen an improvement) after swimming in a pool with chlorinated water? Please be specific, I am familiar with one family who claims that they had their son go ahead and swim in their pool,.. and then they said he nolonger had any symptoms. However with regard to public pools, of course there is concern for whether or not this spreads in that predicament or ..hopefully, is it clearly put out forever with the chemical load in the pool?
Without a definitive test , perhaps one's own experiences can be revealing. Or at least a start. Please share if you have had a positive experience after leaving a pool. |
